For his eighth and most recent album for the label, Jan Lisiecki presents the complete Nocturnes by Frédéric Chopin, recorded last October at the historic Meistersaal in Berlin.

De Standaard reviewed the album today:

“One plays Chopin’s Nocturnes not to show off, but to impress. It’s not about showing off his skill, but his art. And if that is so, young pianist Jan Lisiecki is a accomplished artist (…) He unfolds a soulful narrative with incredible depth. This is musical poetry in shades of dark blue (…) Lisiecki plays extraordinarily slowly, exposing every nuance and making the hopeless infinity of the dark hours palpable. However, this darkness is not oppressive. Even in the minor keys, he  manages to uplift and inspire. After the final note of the C sharp minor Nocturne, one looks towards the dawn with a smile.”
