Thomas Hampson’s Song of America: Beyond Liberty will be performed on July 31, 2019 on the BSO’s series at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA. The show, which premiered last summer at the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY in a production directed by Francesca Zambello and is based on a libretto by Royce Vavrek. The show explores the links between American history and American song and features world renowned baritone, Thomas Hampson accompanied by the Beyond Liberty Players. He is joined on stage by pianist Lara Downes, whose recent albums have received high acclaim.
Song of America: Beyond Liberty will tour to Tucson, Arizona and Seattle, Washington in the 19/20 season.
