The musician, born in Helsinki in 2001, impressed the Deutschlandfunk music editorial team and the management of the Bremen Music Festival with his stunning technique and virtuosity, leading to captivating interpretations characterized by a balance of elegance and dynamic vitality.
Alongside his extraordinary technical ability, he impresses with an exquisite command of touch and phrasing, drawing remarkably nuanced tonal colors from the instrument. This results in interpretations full of radiant transparency, compelling intensity, and convincing structural logic, already marking him as a mature artist with his own musical vision,” the jury explained in their decision.
The award ceremony will take place on August 30, 2024, following the Musikfest concert with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at the Glocke Concert Hall in Bremen.
Previous award winners have included Julia Fischer, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, and Kristian Bezuidenhout.
