Chad Hoopes will give a recital at Barcelona’s l’Auditori on Thursday, May 16, 2019. The program, focused on music for the violin by French composers, will feature works by Debussy, Ravel, Saint-Saëns, and Ysaÿe. He will be joined by pianist David Fung, with whom he frequently collaborates in recital.

Hoopes, a 2017 Avery Fisher Career Grant winner, has been praised by the Washington Post for his “jaw-dropping virtuosity” and his “distinctive and convincing sense of poetry.” He will play at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center this summer on tour with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and will be featured as soloist in the Brandenburg Concertos project at the Aspen Music Festival this July.
