Am 24. August 2019 übernimmt Pianist Jan Lisiecki kurzfristig für Murray Perahia das Konzert mit dem Israel Philharmonic Orchestra und Zubin Mehta beim Riga Jurmala Music Festival. Lisiecki wird Beethovens 4. Klavierkonzert spielen.

“Jan Lisiecki is an outstanding artist whose career I have followed and supported over the last ten years,” says Martin T:son Engstroem, Artistic Director of the Riga Jurmala Music Festival. “He will already be in Jurmala for a solo recital on August 23 at 7pm, which will be the first time he performs for Latvian audiences, so we are particularly grateful that he has agreed to rearrange his schedule at such short notice to step in for Murray Perahia the following evening. We are all particularly excited because this performance will mark Jan’s joint debut with the legendary Zubin Mehta and with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.”
