HANNOVER (July 6, 2016) – Dorn Music is delighted to announce the signing of LGT Young Soloists!
Highly gifted young soloists between the ages of 13 and 22 have gathered to form this unique string ensemble, the LGT Young Soloists. Together they have won over 80 first prizes in national and international music competitions. The LGT Young Soloists project was launched in the summer of 2013 by Alexander Gilman and LGT Private Banking.
LGT Young Soloists captivate audiences through their enjoyment of playing, spontaneity and passion for music.
The principle of the LGT Young Soloists is simple yet unique: young musicians perform amongst their peers as soloists with their own orchestra, accompany each other and share their common passion for music. This provides unique opportunities to take the stage regularly, to gain experience as soloists and as chamber and orchestra musicians, to build up a repertoire and to develop their own stage presence.
The members of the LGT Young Soloists come from various countries and cultures, sharing new stimuli and impulses, and establishing international relationships and friendships. The members of the LGT Young Soloists are also given the opportunity to play top-class instruments made by the likes of Antonio Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesù, which are provided by sponsors.
Commitment to help people in need is especially important to these young musicians. LGT Young Soloists make regular appearances at charity concerts. Under the motto “Children Helping Children”, they have succeeded in raising considerable sums of money for children in need at various fundraising events. The LGT Young Soloists performed with pop star Vincent Wong at one single event, the biggest fundraising TV gala in Hong Kong, the Tung Wah Charity Galas, raising more than 13 million US dollars for good causes.
LGT Young Soloists are the world’s first youth orchestra to release an album on RCA Red Seal (Sony). The CD was met with outstanding critical reception and was nominated for the International Classical Music Award (ICMA). Further SONY CD productions are planned.
Highlights of last seasons included performances at the Gasteig in Munich, the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the Shenzhen Concert Hall and the Taiwan Art Festival, MS Europa 2 and at the inauguration ceremony of the president of the Swiss federation, Johann Schneider-Ammann.
For 2016, tours of Asia, Europe and Israel are planned. LGT Young Soloists will also open the Liedwochen (Song Weeks) at Schloss Elmau with the renowned soprano Juliane Banse, and will give concerts as orchestra-in-residence at the newly opened Kunsthalle Arlberg.
Alexander Gilman, Founder of the ensemble: ‘It is an honor working with such an outstanding and dedicated team. We are sure that this collaboration will truly benefit our young musicians through the provision of a platform to grow personally and artistically. Exciting times coming up for our young soloists!’
